Nipple Tattoo Faqs

How do I get started?

Ali’s process begins with a (free) in-person consultation here at the studio. Email laftsnj@gmail.com to schedule a consultation.

A consultation gives you the chance to see our studio space, meet with Ali, and ask any questions that you may have about the process. Ali will take a photo of you to aid in planning a personalized strategy for your session.

While Ali prefers in-person consultations, we can schedule a remote consultation.

Ali typically needs two tattoo sessions for best results.

Plan to be at the studio for three to four hours. Follow up sessions are typically one to two hours.

We schedule nipple tattoo sessions at least one month apart to allow your skin to fully heal & restore between sessions.

Yes, prior to your first tattoo session we need a note from a doctor or surgeon clearing you for nipple tattooing.

Tattoo Healing Instructions

Lost & Found Tattoo Studio Healing Instructions

You have been tattooed in a clean environment by certified professionals. It is important to protect your tattoo from environmental contamination during the healing process. Please familiarize yourself with the following instructions:

  • If you are bandaged using a transparent adhesive bandage barrier or derm bandage, remove the bandage 8-24 hours after being bandaged, depending on how much the area weeps. (It is normal for blood and fluids to collect under the bandage.) If you are bandaged using clear plastic wrap or perforated soaker pads, remove the bandage when you are able to wash your tattoo in a clean environment. Do not leave the bandage on overnight.
  • Wash your hands with antibacterial soap before treating your tattoo.
  • Wash your new tattoo with warm, running water and a low or no fragrance liquid soap.
  • Avoid specially perfumed, exfoliating, or deodorant soaps.
  • Gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free and dye-free ointment. Some popular options include: Aquaphor, Vitalitree, H2Ocean Aquatat, Hustle Butter. Vitalitree Tattoo Salve and Aquaphor are available for purchase at the studio.
  • It is not necessary to re-bandage your tattoo. You may wear clean, loose-fitting clothing over your tattoo. Material that breathes, such as cotton, is preferred.
  • Repeat the process of washing and then moisturizing with ointment or lotion approximately 2-5 times per day.
  • Do not scratch or pick at your healing tattoo. The top layer will lift off when ready.
  • You may see ink in the scab material. This is normal. Gray wash tones will lighten during the healing process and continue to soften over time.
  • In a few days, after your scab is formed, you may want to switch to a more water soluble, fragrance-free, and dye-free lotion. Kerri, Aveeno, H2Ocean Moisturizing Cream, Cetaphil are some popular examples.
  • During the healing process, do not submerge your new tattoo in a bathtub. Do not go swimming or use a hot tub until your tattoo is completely healed. (Showering with your new tattoo during the healing process is perfectly okay.) The healing process may take approximately 2 weeks.
  • Do not expose your healing tattoo to the sun. After your tattoo is healed, use a high SPF sunblock to preserve the darkness and crispness of your body art.
  • If you suspect that your tattoo has been exposed to pathogens resulting in infection, contact your doctor. Signs of infection include, but are not limited to: persistent and extreme redness, tenderness, and or swelling; red streaks emanating from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, excessive weeping/drainage from the procedure site.
  • Do not hesitate to contact your artist or Lost & Found Tattoo Studio at (848) 219-2579 or email laftsnj@gmail.com if you have concerns during the healing process.
